As mentioned in previous topics, Indonesia is one of the fastidious markets of Southeast Asia with a lot of regulation for products need to export to this market.
Like many other countries, the Indonesian government stipulates that products that want to enter this market need to ensure they meet all regulations on product quality standards. This system regulates all products circulating on the Indonesian market.
Most imported products must have SNI certification for manufacturer. However, it is interesting to note that not all imported products are required to apply for this SNI certification.
SNI certification is divided into two types: one is SNI certification for product manufacturing factories, and the other is SNI certification for each specific shipment.
For SNI certification for the factory, the factory must register for SNI certification before starting the export process. This process lasts from 2 to 3 months, or may take longer, depending on the capacity of each plant. And especially the factory can register for certification when there are no specific orders for exported products.
For SNI certification for each shipment, it is imperative that the factory has a specific order to apply for SNI certification for that shipment. This process is usually simpler than the process of applying for SNI certification for factories and lasts from 1 to 1.5 months.
The Government of Indonesia has specific provisions on items required to apply for SNI certification for products. Items outside of this list do not require SNI certification.
However, there is an obstacle that the Indonesian Government documents are published in Bahasa language, so it is a bit difficult for importers to look up information to prepare procedures for importing goods.
With the experience of having previously applied for SNI Certification for many products, MRS Team is always ready to support factories in Vietnam.
